Friday, July 22

During breakfast we serenaded the kitchen crew with our camp song:
Love one another, walk in Him; Imitate the love of Christ to men.
Be filled with the Spirit and, seek His face;
Stand firm and Abide, reflect His grace.

One of the lunch workers was tearing up because we thanked them in such a personal way. They wanted the words on the poster and expressed thanks to us.

The 3D program of DM2 was introduced and explained to campers in order to help them begin thinking on future plans for a gap-year Bible study, further equipping for whatever the future has in store.

Giving yourself a single year to absorb and give a good start to life would be something all could benefit from. Spiritual life is the most important thing, so why not invest in it?

We had a recap of study techniques so we cannot just read but understand the Bible for ourselves. We must learn to be imitators of Christ.

Conclusion
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence (Arete) and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things.

Midday class: The five correlated Scriptures of love in action are

John 13:34–35A specific kind of love commanded and a standard—a choice.
1 Corinthians 13:1–3Warnings about the worthlessness without love.
1 Corinthians 13:4–7Love described.
Ephesians 4:1–3Love applied—the worthy walk.
Ephesians 5:1–2Imitation of Christ, the command.

Our objective is to walk with the Savior and keep our eyes on Him!

After midday class the camp assembled over at the large cross on the bank of the lake for a group picture. Victoria Spanial, a former camper and counselor, came the last two days and was able to snap the photo. Those of us who know her were glad to have the visit and enjoyed so much the fellowship.

Evening class was an exercise in constructing a prayer. Beginning with thanksgiving, and then to praise, we list the attributes of God and thank Him for those in our lives. We pray for others what God wants for them, and to have the kind of love that will shine into the world. Many items of thanks were given.

After the prayer was finished, everyone stood up and read the prayer together. The campers were able to agree on the wonderful blessings of the week!

After evening class, we are having a square dance. Should be great fun!

Campers were given time to begin cleaning their cabins and getting ready for early departure Saturday morning! We will be sad to say goodbye, but we know our friendships are for eternity and look forward to the Lords’ return. Until then, we will be anticipating a return to camp and moving forward with spiritual growth and glorifying the Lord in our lives.
