This week in the morning sessions, Pastor David Roseland is emphasizing the Great Commission, teaching from passages in Matthew, Luke, Acts, and John.
What do you need to do a job?
- Know what the job is: Information.
- The ability to do it: Power.
Pastor Dave told us, “We’ve actually been told what we’re supposed to be doing!” And God gave us the ability to do it. Every day, our priority is to read the Word of God. He emphasized these Christian mission passages: Luke 24:44-49; Acts 1:7-8; John 21:15-17; Matthew 28:19-20.
So, what’s our job? Making disciples! We looked at Matthew 28:19-20.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
We’re to focus on God and what God loves. And God loves making disciples.
In summary, we’re to BE ON MISSION: For me to live is Christ. This is doing what the Lord Jesus wants us to do.
Yes! He has given us more than enough information to become disciples of Jesus. And with the power of the Holy Spirit that is always available in our lives, we can’t lose!
