At the morning brief, counselors reported that their campers were definitely talking through some of their issues and questions. One of the Nurses said that on one of her med calls, she waited more than she expected on the group of girls to quit praying! How refreshing to have to wait to wait on kids to finish prayers! A counselor reported that the guys were participating in discussion and prayers. Counselors were excited at the summaries of the day’s lessons given were so accurate and that a main take-away was that Agape love is about giving rather than receiving as the world defines love.
Morning class was about created communication between minds—language. Using context, biblical situations letting the Bible interpret itself.
Midday there were a few games on the Bible trivia and lists. Campers lined up in their teams outside and raced to arrange the Old Testament books in order, then the New Testament books. The trivia game was inside and very informative. There was huge teamwork and lots of joy!
Theology class culminated in an exercise to relate two passages of Scripture to develop a doctrinal category.
In the afternoon there was a cleaning session to rehearse for the final inspection.
Evening class touched on the need to separate from friends who are involved in known sin and evil as an act of love. But we must be willing and motivated to forgive others.
After class we had the Pastors Panel. Campers had written questions anonymously and placed them in a collection box. Pastors were able to address issues on the minds of the campers in a meaningful way.
