Pastor Brad Maston is teaching us about spiritual gifts this week. We learned a lot in the first session!
Our first session was “Defining Spirituality,” where we learned the difference between walking in the Spirit and walking in the flesh.
We first learned about our Lord’s mission. There are many ways that people try to reach God, but we cannot succeed. We needed Jesus to break down the sin barrier between us and God.
Faith (or trust) is the hand by which we reach out and accept the eternal life offered freely in Jesus.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God.”
Receiving a gift takes nothing on our part!
Pastor Brad reminded us that since spiritual gifts are supernatural, you must be in fellowship with God through Christ to use them.
I love the simple truth that, “Fruit grows naturally from a healthy tree.”
