How do you identify yourself?
Our identity is in Christ. We have value because we’re a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Because our identity is in Jesus, the spiritual gifts are not to make us feel better about ourselves.
When we think we have value because of our spiritual gift, we get self-centered and not Christ-centered.
Pastor Brad pointed out that our ultimate position, our ultimate reality, is that we’re the Lord’s. The reason God has given us our spiritual gift is to build up the Body of Christ.
“To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.” Ephesians 4:12
