We talked about our trying circumstances–people, money, health–and our limitations—lack of knowledge, lack of ability, feeling overwhelmed.

Just as Peter lost his focus on the Lord and began to sink after walking on the water with Jesus, when we look at our problems, our courage breaks down.

In the context of our problems, we stay ON MISSION by taking courage and not being afraid (Matthew 14).

How do you identify yourself?

Our identity is in Christ. We have value because we’re a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ. Because our identity is in Jesus, the spiritual gifts are not to make us feel better about ourselves.

When we think we have value because of our spiritual gift, we get self-centered and not Christ-centered.
